Quality Professional Products was founded by Ron Cook II and father Fred Cook in 2007 to service their own funeral homes located in Western Michigan. It was their desire to lower their casket cost and increase their profit margins while offering better casket values to the families they serve. In this changing industry they saw alternative ways to purchase caskets which led to the birth of QPP. Today Ron Cook II is the owner of QPP and five funeral homes. His vision for QPP is to help other funeral homes improve their gross profits by providing them with superior casket values and service. Ron began his career in the family funeral business after graduating from Grand Valley State University with a business degree. He resides in Western Michigan with his wife and 3 children and is an avid sportsman.
Jeff Pulver began with QPP in the spring of 2009. Prior to assuming the role of President in 2016 he focused on improving QPP’s product offering, increasing sales and building relationships with funeral home owners in Western Michigan. Prior to his arrival at QPP Jeff spent 33 years in the furniture industry where he held numerous positions with the companies he served including National Sales Manager, VP Sales & Marketing, Manager of Product Development and Purchasing Manager. Jeff holds a graduate degree in business from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY and an under graduate degree from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. Jeff enjoys spending time with family and friends, golf, skiing and antique cars. He resides in Western Michigan with his wife, five sons and six grandchildren.
Executive Vice President
Mike Schermer joined the QPP team in the spring of 2012. He has focused on improving QPP’s operations in the areas of customer service, delivery, inventory management, warehousing and internal processes. Prior to joining QPP Mike spent 36 years in the furniture industry holding positions such as Systems Analyst, Master Scheduler, Sales Forecast Analyst, Manufacturing Manager, Project Manager and Director of Operations. Mike is well versed in international business and importing. Mike enjoys spending time with family, skeet shooting and golf. He resides in Western Michigan with his wife, four daughters and five grandchildren.
Western Michigan and Northern Indiana Sales Representative
Jeff was born and raised in High Point, NC. After graduating from Appalachian State University in 1984 he began a long sales related career supplying the high-end furniture industry with inlaid plywood, architectural plywood, fancy faced veneer and other wood related products. He went on to be co-owner of a plywood manufacturer in Southern Indiana. He sold his shares in this company in 2014 and started his career with QPP in 2016. Jeff loves spending time with family and resides in Western Michigan with his wife. He has one son, two daughters and three grandchildren.
Tom was born and raised in Flint,
Michigan.He attended Olivet College before graduating from Wayne State
University School of Mortuary Science in 1987. He has spent most of his career
dedicated to the pre-need area in funeral service. This has afforded him keen insights toward
the impact of the casket cost, both at point of sale and claim.
Most notably, Tom worked ten years as a
Senior Account Executive for Assurant Pre-need and seven years as a Regional
Vice President for National Guardian Life where he traveled extensively. This
gave him a unique view of funeral services across many demographics. Tom lives in Livonia, Michigan and has two
sons, Dylan and Ethan.He is a member of St. Aidan Catholic Church and Knights of
Johnny was born and raised in Flushing, Michigan. After attending Barry University, he spent 13 years as an Orthopedic Technician at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. Concurrently, he worked for Covell Funeral Homes as a Funeral Director Assistant. Johnny joined Thompson Surgical Instruments in 2001 as an International Sales Manager where he traveled extensively working with medical personnel and building strong business relationships. Johnny was also a Store Manager at a family owned business franchise store, Art Van Furniture in Owosso, Michigan. He was one of 16 children and has a daughter, Caitlin, who lives in Traverse City, Michigan. Johnny is an avid outdoorsman and loves to spend time attending his niece's and nephew's sporting events.
